Dear Blizzard Entertainment Inc.,

with the release of Overwatch, you have once again created a critically acclaimed, fun to play and innovative game. We would love to see this game be released for the Linux desktop.

When it was announced that Overwatch would not be available on Mac OSX due to performance and API reasons, this meant it wouldn't get an OpenGL renderer.

It is also one of the first Blizzard games to not run on Wine due to it's use of DirectX11.

The Linux desktop does not suffer from the restrictions OSX has. Infact, the vendor drivers are completely on par with the Windows versions aside from lacking Microsoft DirectX support.

In the past, you have said that "We will continue to monitor the growth of Linux, but it is very unlikely that this will be something that we pursue in the near future.". Linux gaming is a fresh market, and lacks publisher willing to take a risk in porting their games to Linux. However, the market will not magically grow by itself without huge game changers like you.

Linux gaming support is a huge dilemma. There are no games on our platform because the market share is too low. The market share is too low because there are no games. 

Many users are waiting for companies to start releasing their games on Linux, just so they can switch to their favourite Linux distribution. You have the chance to be one of the first ones to go into that direction.
