VICTORIAN ELECTION REVIEW OF PARTY ENERGY POLICIES WHICH ONE WILL END IN SUCCESS OR BLACKOUTS

This Victorian Election, will decide whether the Vic Electricity Grid, returns to being a reliable, lower cost supplier of base load electricity, for every second, 24/7 of the year. Or Victoria continue with the Phase out of Fossil Fuels and disastrous Transition to Renewables, resulting in extremely high electricity costs, blackouts and power rationing.
Note: Stability of the Grid is of extreme importance. The current has to be maintained at 240v and 50Hz frequency, for every second of the day. If the amount of electricity required, (that is the demand of what required to be drawn out, is not matched almost instantly by increased generation. A drop in voltage will trip automatic switches and cascade into causing blackouts. (In today’s Grid, the generators, powered by either coal, gas or hydro, act as immense flywheels, which can rotate at a steady speed and build up a momentum, which soaks up any drops in the voltage and keeps it stable. Currently, 2.45pm, 22/9/26 Brown coal is providing 72% of the supply to the Victorian Grid, with wind 10% and solar 18% which will drop to 0% at Sundown.
WITHOUT VICTORIA’S BROWN COAL GENERATORS, VICTORIA WOULD BE BLACKED OUT AND THERE IS NO WAY THAT RENEWABLES ARE ABLE TO REPLACE THEM 24/7.

The Greens: 100% renewable energy by 2030, public infrastructure and no new coal or gas
Transition Victoria to 100% renewable energy by 2030 while maintaining a reliable and stable electricity grid.
Use public investment and ownership for storage and transmission infrastructure, including community-owned microgrids, to support energy security, stable prices and the renewable transition.
Establish government-backed loans so households can install efficiency upgrades, solar panels and batteries, with repayment deferred until the home is sold.
Immediately ban all new coal and gas projects and end public support for the existing fossil-fuel industry.

Labor
Free midday power, legislated renewable targets and storage-backed reliability
From 1 October 2026, participating households will receive three hours of free electricity every day between 11 am and 2 pm under the Midday Power Saver offer. Around 2.6 million households will be eligible, with estimated annual savings varying according to how much usage is shifted to midday.
Maintain Victoria's legislated renewable electricity targets of 65 per cent by 2030 and 95 per cent by 2035, including offshore wind targets of at least 2 GW by 2032, 4 GW by 2035 and 9 GW by 2040.
Deliver at least 2.6 GW of energy storage by 2030 and 6.3 GW by 2035, supported by targeted gas-fired generation for peak demand and periods of low wind and solar generation.
Continue the state-owned SEC investment and workforce program, including an academy intended to train 2,000 electrical trade apprentices over four years and a regional energy jobs plan projected to deliver more than $18 billion in wages from 2026 to 2040.

Liberal–Nationals
Shared Coalition policy
Reverse the gas ban; urban solar parks; review major transmission projects
Reverse Victoria’s restrictions on new gas connections and reopen the state to conventional gas exploration, presenting household energy choice and additional supply as affordability measures.
Establish Urban Solar Parks to encourage solar and battery installations on commercial and industrial rooftops close to electricity demand.
Pause VNI West and the Western Renewables Link while conducting a full cost-benefit review of the Victorian Transmission Plan and its alternatives.
Reverse compulsory-acquisition provisions and other measures the Coalition says diminish farmers’ rights during transmission development.

One Nation
Coal, gas, nuclear and hydro with no new renewable subsidies
One Nation Victoria supports an energy mix including coal, natural gas, nuclear, hydro and other technologies, arguing that reliability and affordability should determine investment.
The party proposes changing National Electricity Market rules so coal generation is not disadvantaged and giving long-term policy certainty for upgrades to Victorian coal power infrastructure.
One Nation Victoria would phase out new taxpayer subsidies for renewable projects while allowing existing agreements to run their course.
It would prohibit specified wind and solar developments on prime agricultural land, offshore areas, native forests or high bushfire-risk sites, and require rehabilitation bonds for energy projects.
BLACKOUTS WILL BE DEVASTATING: Our petition to keep all our coal fired power stations, running to ensure a constant reliable supply of baseload power 24/7, continues to be extremely important.
And no consideration of them being closed be considered until assured supplies of base load electricity 24/7 is available from coal, gas or uranium powered generators. Even if this requires the coal fired generators be compulsory acquired by the relevant Government, in the National interest and to maintain the supply of base load electricity 24/7 that is essential to STOP the Grid from collapsing.
OUR PETITION TO KEEP OUR COAL FIRED POWER STATIONS RUNNING. Is educating everyone of how important coal fired power stations are to keeping the Grid from crashing.
https://www.change.org/p/blackouts-will-be-devastating-they-must-be-avoided-at-all-costs
YOUR SUPPORT FOR OUR PETITION WITH DONATIONS WILL BE REPAID WITH BASELOAD ELECTRICITY FOR THE NEXT CRITICAL FIFTEEN TO TWENTY YEARS. Be it $10, $20, $50 or $100 please make a donation and keep our petition in the public eye. AND KEEP THE BLACKOUTS AT BAY. The more signatures we get the more wins will keep coming and the coal fired power stations will be kept running. Promote the petition on Change.org and share it on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Whatsapp or Email.
KEEP INFORMED BY DAILY MONITORING THE AEMO DATA DASHBOARD. And alert your friends to watch the AEMO dashboard, the more know what's happening the better.
Particularly at 7pm and 7am (Or a time that suits you?) watch (and record) the mix of coal, gas hydro, batteries, solar and wind generation and the prices per MWh for each State on the AEMO dashboard.
Example: Eastern States 24/06/26 5.55.pm AEST.. Batteries 12%, Biomass 0%, Black Coal 38% Brown Coal 13%, Gas 18%, Hydro 16% Diesel 0% Solar 0%, Wind 2%. 4.55pm, coming into a peak time when solar is just entering its daily 17 hour, sunshine drought and wind is pottering along (in all States, it is in single figures), with no guarantee that a wind drought, might not be around the corner.
Meanwhile our coal fired generators are the backbone of the Grid. 24/6/26 5.55pm AEST. In NSW coal is producing 65% Solar 0%, Wind 1%, Qld coal 56%, solar 0% wind 4% Vic Brown coal 53%, solar 0%, wind 2%. SA batteries 12%, gas 77%, diesel 3% solar 0%, wind 8% and Tas hydro 94%, wind 2%.
WITHOUT COAL AUSTRALIA WOULD BE BLACKED OUT.
AND THE PRICES GENERATORS ARE RECEIVING VARIES WIDELY. As shown by these statistics what the generators are receiving for their Grid electricity. 22/6/26 4.55pm AESDST. In Qld the generators are receiving $43MWh. NSW is being paid $198Mwh. SA is paying $312MWh Vic is paying $188MWh and Tas is paying $112MWh.
THE COST OF LIVING CRISIS, IS BEING DRIVEN, BY THE COST OF ELECTRICITY CRISIS!
STOP PRESS: WHAT CAN HAPPEN. South Australia 4th June 2024 9.05pm EST. Batteries 0%, Gas 97%, Diesel 3% Solar 0%, Wind 0%.
SA RENEWABLES CAPITAL OF AUSTRALIA WITH BATTERIES, SOLAR AND WIND PRODUCING NO ELECTRICITY, ZERO, NOTHING
In the current fuel crisis our petition is getting traction, we are up to 4,675 signatures, (that’s 4,675 emails that go out, every update). Let’s increase it by many more, everyone’s future depends on it. Continue to spread the word, to all family, friends, anyone you meet, particularly discuss it with shop and business owners. Ask the question, “How do you plan to cope when the blackouts come? The possibility is too awful to contemplate.
WE MUST KEEP THOSE COAL FIRED GENERATORS GOING, TO KEEP OUR SOCIETY FROM HAVING BLACKOUTS, POWER RATIONING AND EXHORBITENT ENERGY PRICES
