INTERNATIONAL PLAN TO RUIN AUSTRALIA THROUGH TRANSITION TO RENEWABLES MUST BE STOPPED NOW
The Albanese Government’s plan to Transition Australia’s electricity Grid from being Fossil Fuel driven, to 82% Renewables driven by 2030. (As seen below, the Transition is to meet United Nations and Paris Agreement fantasies). And the Transition will be a disaster and lead to sky high electricity prices and blackouts. Because currently our coal fired power stations are providing a minimum of 50% and at times up to 85% of the electricity to the Grid. And it is impossible in 2030 or ever for 82% Renewables to power the Grid.

And the Albanese Government continues to drag Australia into the mire. By voting in favour of a UN motion The Secretary-General said it makes clear Member States’ responsibility to protect their own people from what is an “escalating climate crisis”. The resolution drawn up by Vanuatu - a Pacific island nation on the frontline of the climate crisis, and several other countries - was adopted after intense discussion including multiple proposed amendments with 141 votes in favour, eight against and 28 abstentions. Those voting against were Belarus, Iran, Israel, Liberia, Russia, Saudi Arabia, the US and Yemen.
When the International Court of Justice (ICJ), the UN’s principal judicial body, ruled in July 2025 that States have an obligation to protect the environment from greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, the decision was hailed as a breakthrough. The UN chief described it simply as “a victory for our planet”.

If the Albanese Govt, is allowed to continue with the Transition, Australia will continue to de-industrialize, and result in unaffordable electricity prices, electricity rationing and blackouts.
EVERY DAY THIS SITUATION IS ALLOWED TO CONTINUE THE ABILITY TO TURN IT AROUND BECOMES MORE DIFFICULT.
It all makes our petition extremely important: TO STOP THE CLOSURE OF ALL THE AUSTRALIAN COAL FIRED POWER STATIONS AND TO KEEP THEM RUNNING IS OF THE UTMOST IMPORTANCE.
This includes Eraring NOW 2029, Yallourn NOW 2032), Bayswater in 2033, with Loyang A in 2045 and all other coal fired power stations.
And no consideration of them being closed be considered until assured supplies of base load electricity 24/7 is available from coal, gas or uranium powered generators. Even if this requires the coal fired generators be compulsory acquired by the relevant Government, in the National interest and to maintain the supply of base load electricity 24/7 that is essential to STOP the Grid from collapsing.

Particularly at 7pm and 7am (Or a time that suits you?) watch (and record) the mix of coal, gas hydro, batteries, solar and wind generation and the prices per MWh for each State on the AEMO dashboard.
Example: Eastern States 14/05/26 4.50pm AEST. Batteries 12%, Biomass 0%, Black Coal 43% Brown Coal 15%, Gas 5%, Hydro 11% Diesel 0% Solar 4%, Wind 10%. 4.50pm a time when solar is about to start its daily 17 hour, sunshine drought and wind might join it (as it is doing in NSW, being on only 8% wind), in having a wind drought.
Meanwhile our coal fired generators are the backbone of the Grid. 14/5/26 4.50pm AEST. In NSW coal is producing 72% Solar 3%, Wind 8%, Qld coal 57%, solar 2% wind 13% Vic Brown coal 59%, solar 2%, wind 7%. SA batteries 28%, gas 44%, solar 5%, wind 22% and Tas hydro 90%, wind 10%.
WITHOUT COAL AUSTRALIA WOULD BE BLACKED OUT.
AND SOMETIMES SOME GENERATROS ARE BEING RUN AT A LOSS. As shown by these statistics what the generators are receiving for their Grid electricity. 28/3/26 8.10pm AESDST. In Qld the generators are only receiving $0.70MWh. NSW is being paid $37.89Mwh. SA is paying minus $4.00MWh (the generator is paying the Grid to take the power) Vic is paying minus $4.75MWh (the generator is paying the Grid to take the power) and Tas is paying $72.24MWh.
