One after the other, the Unreliables that make up the Transition to Unreliables are found to be impracticable, unviable and are being abandoned. A collapse is inevitable.
1. Green Hydrogen was the first to go. It was a nonsense idea from the start. More than 95% of all Green Hydrogen projects have been abandoned.
A. Expecting to power it with two Unreliables. Sunshine that has fuel, for at most 8 hours a day. And if it is cloudy or raining you might get nothing. And Wind only averages 8 hours a day and with wind droughts, there could be hours, days and even weeks, when the windmills produce nothing.
B. Then it was found that you had to use double the amount of Unreliables energy, say $10 worth, to get $5 worth of Hydrogen.
C. Hydrogen boils at very low temperatures, meaning it could evaporate away easily (and the fumes would be very explosive). So, it has to be liquified, meaning it has to be stored at the extremely low temperature of -250dC.
D. Hydrogen is a tiny molecule that will find its way through ordinary steel, even glass. So that Hydrogen, cannot be put into Natural Gas pipelines. It is very dangerous to be in everyday use.
2. Offshore Wind Farms were the next to bite the water. I can guarantee the will be NO Offshore Wind Farms built in Australian waters.
A. While offshore wind turbines are slightly more efficient than on onshore wind turbines it is only produces electricity (on average) about 9 hours a day. What a rort.
B. Then being established in up to a 100m of open sea, it created huge problems for fishermen, whales, the environment. Pushing up the cost to being prohibitive.
C. As well putting Wind Turbines in salty water, is not a bright idea, when you think of corrosion.
D. I believe there was NEVER any intention to dismantle, remove the toxic waste and restore the seashore.
IT RANKS AS BEING AMONG ONE OF THE BIGGEST ENVIRONMENTAL DISASTERS EVER.
3. Onshore Wind Farms, are being deserted by Investors.
A. It is being reported that no private Wind Farms, have so far been financed in 2025. Because the costs of construction are becoming much higher, the return on investment (competition from rooftop solar) is becoming more doubtful and the Federal and State Governments ability to build HV Transmission Lines is being put under a lot of opposition.
B. While the Federal Government’s Capacity Investment Scheme is funding some Wind Farms, if the subsidies were to dry up, (if the Coalition were to scrap Net Zero 2050). Then it would add more doubt for Investors.
C. If Wind Farm owners are put under pressure, to honour commitments, to dismantle, dispose of (where landfill) the toxic waste, (particularly the turbine blades) and restore the site. They will quickly abandon project.
4. The risk of sabotage to electrical systems. From the Weekend Aust 27/28 Sept 2025. According to a story by Reuters in May this year, “kill switches” that could allow China to shut down power grids and cause blackouts were discovered in equipment at solar farms in the US. The Chinese-installed spyware, including cellular radios, was found in Chinese-supplied power inverters – and batteries – used to connect solar panels and wind turbines to electricity grids, not only in the US but also around the world. These systems could be deployed remotely to freeze power grids. Explode electric vehicles and the thousands of storage batteries, with clearly catastrophic results.
5. The Transition to Unreliables relies on every project playing its part. When you scrap all Green Hydrogen Projects and Offshore Wind Farms. And there is doubt about onshore Wind Farms, along with the threat of sabotage to everything, including Solar Farms and Electric vehicles.
WHEN ALL THESE FAILURES ARE SEEN TOGETHER THEN THE TRANSITION TO UNRELIABLES WILL COLLAPSE. AND I BELIEVE IT IS ALREADY HAPPENING!
It becomes very apparent that our petition
TO STOP THE CLOSURE OF ALL THE AUSTRALIAN COAL FIRED POWER STATIONS AND TO KEEP THEM RUNNING IS OF THE UTMOST IMPORTANCE.
This includes Eraring NOW 2027, Yallourn NOW 2032), Bayswater in 2033, with Loyang A in 2045 and all other coal fired power stations.
And no consideration of them being closed be considered until assured supplies of base load electricity 24/7 is available from coal, gas or uranium powered generators. Even if this requires the coal fired generators be compulsory acquired by the relevant Government, in the National interest and to maintain the supply of base load electricity 24/7 that is essential to STOP the Grid from collapsing.

Particularly at 7pm and 7am (Or a time that suits you?) watch (and record) the mix of coal, gas hydro, batteries, solar and wind generation and the prices per MWh for each State on the AEMO dashboard.
Example: Eastern States 19th September 7.5pm AEST. Batteries 2%, Biomass 0%, Black Coal 45% Brown Coal 11%, Gas 2%, Hydro 10% Diesel 0% Solar 0%, Wind 30%. 7.45pm a time when solar has gone for its daily 16 hours (lack of fuel), zero production period. Unreliable wind is all over the place averaging 30%, but ranging from a pathetic 9% in Qld, up to 88% in SA. With the dread of wind droughts, dropping wind’s contribution to an overall 7 or 8%.
To underline the importance of our coal fired generators 19/09/25 7.55 pm AEST. In NSW coal is producing 74% Solar 0%, Wind 14%, Qld coal 77%, solar 0% wind 9% Vic Brown coal 44%, solar 0%, wind 51%. SA batteries 8%, gas 4%, solar 0%, wind 88% and Tas hydro 65%, wind 35%.
WITHOUT COAL AUSTRALIA WOULD BE BLACKED OUT.
