Question: What is the similarity between a juggler and an electricity Grid?
Answer: If a juggler drops one ball, the act will crash to a finish. If an electricity Grid has either a surge in input to the Grid, or a sudden drop in input, the Grid will crash causing blackouts.
To explain the important part of the Grid is the electrons (electricity) flowing through it. It is critically important, that the flow of electrons be perfectly stable. This means that the electricity being drawn out of the Grid has to be matched exactly by the electricity that is being put into the Grid. And the overall stability of the Grid has to be maintained at 240v and 50Hz frequency, at every second of the day.
If the amount of electricity required (peak periods) is not matched by increased generation, for a very short time. The drop in voltage will trip automatic safety switches and cause a blackout.
If the amount of electricity being put in (by a rush of rooftop solar) is too much. A surge/spike will trip automatic safety switches and cause a blackout.
Just yesterday 29th April 2025, Spain was running it’s Grid on 77% Renewables and a minute later, the whole country was blacked out. With Portugal, who relies on a large feeder line from Spain (similar to South Aust), a large part of Portugal’s blacked out as well. To compound the problem as Renewables (solar and wind), don’t have the spinning generators of coal, gas or nuclear. They are very difficult to restart, (it is like you need a giant pair of jumper leads) and it was hours and even a day before power was restored.
As Chris Bowen, along with Labor, Greens, Teals and Independents want Australia to become reliant on 82% Renewables generating to our Grid. The blackouts that Spain and Portugal experienced, will be inevitable if we continue along the path to 82% Renewables.
In the coming Election, I would urge you to vote with Australia’s future and the future of your children and grandchildren in mind. Having said that with the information above of what will happen if we are forced down the 82% path. I would recommend that for the Parties who want 82% Renewables. The Greens be put last, Teals and Independents second last, and Labor third last.
AS THE DISASTER OF THE RENEWABLES BECOMES MORE APPARENT. IT BECOMES MORE IMPORTANT THAT OUR PETITION TO STOP THE CLOSURE OF MORE AUSTRALIAN COAL FIRED POWER STATIONS HAS TO BE HEARD.
This includes Eraring NOW 2027, Yallourn NOW 2032), Bayswater in 2033, with Loyang A in 2045 and all other coal fired power stations.
And no consideration of them being closed be considered until assured supplies of base load electricity 24/7 is available from coal, gas or uranium powered generators. Even if this requires the coal fired generators be compulsory acquired by the relevant Government, in the National interest and to maintain the supply of base load electricity 24/7 that is essential to STOP the Grid from collapsing.

Particularly at 7pm and 7am (Or a time that suits you?) watch (and record) the mix of coal, gas hydro, batteries, solar and wind generation and the prices per MWh for each State on the AEMO dashboard.
Example: Eastern States 14th April 2025 7.10pm AEST. Batteries 2%, Biomass 0%, Black Coal 41% Brown Coal 18%, Gas 12%, Hydro 10% Diesel 0% Solar 0%, Wind 16%. 7.10pm a time when Solar has entered a daily 16 hours (lack of fuel), zero production period. Unreliable wind is all over the place averaging 16%, but ranging from only 8% in Qld, up to 38% in SA.
To underline the importance of our coal fired generators 14/04/25, 7.10 pm AEST. In NSW coal is producing 60% Solar 0%, Wind 14%, Qld coal 73%, solar 0% wind 8% Vic Brown coal 68%, solar 0%, wind 24%. SA batteries 0%, gas 54%, solar 0%, wind 38% and Tas hydro 82%, wind 13%.
WITHOUT COAL AUSTRALIA WOULD BE BLACKED OUT.
