It cannot be over-stressed the fact that Agricultural Land is annually able to rejuvenate itself and continue to produce food and fibre, is a miracle, and it should be kept as one of the most priceless, uses of land in Australia. If it is fertilized and nurtured it will continue to annually rejuvenate itself, and produce agricultural produce, for the period from 2025 to 2125, a period of one hundred years and then indefinitely.
Agricultural land has certainly, one hundred times greater value than Solar, Wind, BESS Factories and HV Transmission Lines and even greater value than Gold or Uranium mines, which once mined out, have no value in future years.
Example 1. In the Meadow Creek area near Wangaratta, a hectare of agricultural land will produce prime beef production to the present-day value of $5,250 per hectare. For the land of the proposed Solar Factory, of 566 hectares that is a sum of $2,971,500 annually. Over a period of one hundred years, 2025 to 2125, the economic value would amount to $297.5 million dollars. That is an economic loss, plus the flow on of jobs to the Wangaratta community, surrounding areas and Australia as a whole, if a Solar Farm is put on that area of land
Example 2. If the Warracknabeal (Vic) Energy Park is allowed to go ahead. The loss to the Warracknabeal Community and further afield Australia will be. Assuming a hectare of agricultural land will produce agricultural production to the present-day gross value of say $2,000 per hectare. For the land of the proposed Energy Park, of 25,000 hectares that is a sum of $50 million annually. Over a period of one hundred years, 2025 to 2125, the economic value lost would amount to $5 billion dollars. That is an economic loss, plus the flow on of jobs to the Warracknabeal Community, surrounding areas and Australia as a whole, if the Energy Park is put on that area of land.
Benefit 1.. The Meadow Creek annual production of $2,971,500 will provide income for the Farmer, who will employ farm workers and contractors, directly. The money will have a flow on and multiplying effect, providing jobs and supporting businesses in surrounding towns, Cities and Australia as a whole.
Benefit 2. The economic production from agricultural land also greatly contributes to Australia’s, ‘Balance of Payments’ by reducing the need for imports and increasing Australia’s exports.
Benefit 3. Agricultural land which incorporates Woodlands and Wild Life Corridors provides habitat and shelter for wildlife.
Benefit 4. Agricultural land is a major reservoir which stores carbon naturally without any economic inputs required.
Benefit 5. Agricultural land plays an important part in reducing water runoff and preventing floods. As well as acting as a water filter prior to rainfall entering streams and rivers.
For all these reasons the Renewables Transition must be stopped immediately
AND FULLY SUPPORTS WHY OUR PETITION TO STOP THE CLOSURE OF ALL AUSTRALIAN COAL FIRED POWER STATIONS, IS SO IMPORTANT.
This includes Eraring in 2025, Yallourn in (2032 now 2028), Bayswater in 2033, with Loyang A in 2045 and all other coal fired power stations.
And no consideration of them being closed be considered until assured supplies of base load electricity 24/7 is available from coal, gas or uranium powered generators. Even if this requires the coal fired generators be compulsory acquired by the relevant Government, in the National interest and to maintain the supply of base load electricity 24/7 that is essential to STOP the Grid from collapsing.

Particularly at 7pm and 7am (Or a time that suits you?) watch (and record) the mix of coal, gas hydro, batteries, solar and wind generation and the prices per MWh for each State on the AEMO dashboard.
Example: Eastern States 9th February 2025 4.35pm AEDST. Batteries 0%, Biomass 0%, Black Coal 46% Brown Coal 9%, Gas 3%, Hydro 3% Diesel 0% Solar 24%, Wind 15%. 4.35pm a time when Solar should be in full flight is producing 24%. But another 3 hours and it will enter its 16 hours ‘bye, byes’ period when it produces nothing Wind is all over the place averaging 15%, but ranging from only 2% in NSW, up to 57% in SA.
To underline the importance of our coal fired generators 09/02/25, 4.35pm AEDST. Coal is producing in NSW 64% Wind 5%, Qld coal 64%, wind 2% Vic Brown coal 40%, wind 46%. SA gas 19%, Wind 57% and Tas 66% hydro, wind 34%.
WITHOUT COAL AUSTRALIA WOULD BE BLACKED OUT.
