Within eleven days, it has happened again! On the 12th of May 6.40pm, solar, wind and batteries was producing only 7% of the total Eastern States plus SA electricity supply. (Coal was producing 68%).
Eastern States 12th May 2024 6.20pm EST. Batteries 2%, Biomass 0%, Black Coal 50% Brown Coal 18%, Gas 11%, Hydro 14% Diesel 0% Solar 0%, Wind 5%.
Today, it is even worse! On the 23rd of May 5.10pm, solar, wind and batteries were producing only 3% of the total Eastern States plus SA electricity supply. (Coal was producing 64%).

NO MATTER OF HOW MUCH RENEWABLE CAPACITY THERE IS INSTALLED IF RENEWABLES CAN AT TIMES ONLY PRODUCE 3%, WHEN IT IS REQUIRED. THEN THEY NEVER WILL.
THE GRID WILL CERTAINLY COLLAPSE AND RESTARTING WILL BE EXTREMELY DIFFICULT AND TAKE MANY DAYS IF NOT WEEKS TO OCCUR.
TO CONTINUE WITH THE TRANSITION TO RENEWABLES WILL SEE BUSINESSES CLOSE OR GO OFFSHORE WITH HUGE JOB LOSSES.
CITIZENS WILL DIE BECAUSE THEY CANNOT AFFORD FOOD OR HEATING.
COUPLED WITH THE HARM CAUSED BY RENEWABLES AS MILLIONS OF HECTARES OF AGRICULTURAL LAND IS BEING PERMANENTLY POLLUTED, BECOMING A NON-PRODUCTIVE WASTE LAND.
AND OUR UNIQUE AND VITALLY IMPORTANT BIRD AND BAT LIFE BEING SLAUGHTERED BY WIND FACTORIES CREATING UN-RESEARCHED AND UNKNOWN HAVOC ON REGIONAL ENVIRONMENTAL ECOLOGY.
THIS ‘TRANSITION TO UNRELIABLES’ MADNESS MUST BE STOPPED NOW!!!!!
It again underlines how important (beginning with Liddell which closed in April 2023, Eraring in 2025, Yallourn in (2032 now 2028), Bayswater in 2033, with Loyang A in 2045). AND THAT NONE OF THESE COAL FIRED POWER STATIONS BE DEMOLISHED AFTER IT IS CLOSED, BUT BE MOTHBALLED, SO IT CAN BE RESTARTED IN THE EVENT, THAT A SHORTAGE OF ELECTRICAL GENERATION REQUIRES IT TO BE RESTARTED. Even if this requires the coal fired generators be compulsory acquired by the relevant Government, in the National interest.
May I strongly urge all business owners, large and small. CEO’s Managers, those in charge of aged care homes, and other public institutions, everyone in a position of management. Homeowners, etc. Reliable, low cost power is essential. Blackouts are a diabolically, serious issue. Talk with your management, boards, staff about how it will affect your business.
Any business who believes that their business is totally renewable energy powered is deluding themselves and doesn’t realise how wrong they are. It is more likely to be anywhere between 60% to 80% fossil fuels and only 20% to 30% unreliables, with the damage unreliables are doing to Rural Australia can only be described as reprehensible.

KEEP INFORMED BY DAILY MONITORING THE AEMO DATA DASHBOARD. And alert your friends to watch the AEMO dashboard, the more know what's happening the better.
Particularly at 7pm and 7am (Or a time that suits you?) watch (and record) the mix of coal, gas hydro, batteries, solar and wind generation and the prices per MWh for each State on the AEMO dashboard.
Example: Eastern States 23rd May 2024 5.10pm EST. Batteries 0%, Biomass 0%, Black Coal 49% Brown Coal 15%, Gas 20%, Hydro 12% Diesel 1% Solar 1%, Wind 2%. A peak time and solar and wind only contributing 3%. An hour later and solar will have gone to sleep and wind may or may not, continue to be contributing 2%.

WE MUST KEEP THOSE COAL FIRED GENERATORS GOING, TO KEEP OUR SOCIETY FROM HAVING BLACKOUTS, POWER RATIONING AND EXHORBITANT ENERGY PRICES.
