While it is commendable for Peter Dutton to put the removal of the ban on nuclear energy being used to generate electricity as an option for the next election. The possibility of actually getting the removal of the ban through the Senate, with the Greens holding twelve seats is extremely doubtful. It might not be until another couple of election cycles until 2031 before that is possible and then with another ten years of planning and building it might not be before 2041 to 2045 before any nuclear reactors come online in Australia.
What are we going to do in the meantime? The renewable operators delusionry believe they can provide base load power, hoping that a maximum of eight hours (and sometimes much less) of Sunshine each day and along with hoping wind will average another eight hours of intermittent electricity. At night and not during the day? But as they rely on the weather for fuel, it is assured we will see many disasters similar to the recent Victorian one where 500,000 consumers were blacked out. Some for two weeks or more. (Imagine the amount of food that was thrown out).
All the while AGL and other dreamers in the energy industry, as seen by this ABC report https://www.abc.net.au/news/2021-02-24/coal-energy-closures-forced-by-renewable-boom/13186438 are suggesting coal fired power stations will be forced to close as the unreliable, renewable generators, drop prices for a short time when the Sun shines and the wind blows. They don’t realise what an important part coal and gas generators play in filling the gaps and MOST IMPORTANTLY restarting renewables particularly after there has been SYSTEM BLACK EVENT.
Trigger warning! This article outlines the ramifications of a System Black event, it is frightening. Pray that it will never be allowed to happen in Australia. https://cairnsnews.org/2023/06/17/queensland-now-one-of-the-most-expensive-power-supplies-in-the-world-will-suffer-system-black-events/
THE FRAGILITY OF OUR ENERGY GRID UNDERLINES WHY THE LIDDELL COAL FIRED POWER STATION SHOULD HAVE NEVER BEEN CLOSED. AND WHY NO FURTHER CLOSURES SHOULD BE ALLOWED
May I strongly urge all business owners, large and small. CEO’s Managers, those in charge of aged care homes, and other public institutions, everyone in a position of management. Homeowners, etc. Blackouts are a diabolically, serious issue. Talk with your management, boards, staff about how it will affect your business.
Any business who believes that their business is totally renewable energy powered is deluding themselves and doesn’t realise how wrong they are. It is more likely to be 60% coal and only 30% renewables, with the damage they are doing to Rural Australia is bordering on reprehensible.
Continue to promote our petition as widely as possible. https://www.change.org/p/blackouts-will-be-devastating-they-must-be-avoided-at-all-costs I would value it if you are able to donate $20 or $50 to promote the petition on Change.org and also promote it on Facebook, Twitter, Whatsapp or Email.
KEEP INFORMED BY DAILY MONITORING THE AEMO DATA DASHBOARD. And alert your friends to watch the AEMO dashboard, the more know what's happening the better.
Particularly at 7pm and 7am (Or a time that suits you?) watch (and record) the mix of coal, gas hydro, batteries, solar and wind generation and the prices per MWh for each State on the AEMO dashboard.
Example: Eastern States 7th March 5.40pm EDST. Batteries 0%, Biomass 0%, Black Coal 43% Brown Coal 15%, Gas 6%, Hydro 4% Diesel 0% Solar 17%, Wind 15%. In an hour Solar will have gone to sleep for the next 15 to 16 hours and produce nothing. Winds 15% is not assured, if the night is calm, that could be down to 2% or 3%.
IT SHOULD BE UNTHINKABLE TO GET TO A POINT WHERE WE RELY ONLY ON GENERATORS WHOSE PRODUCTION IS TOTALLY DRIVEN ON THE UNCERTAINTY OF THE WEATHER
We are up to 2,855 signatures, let’s increase it by many more, everyone’s future depends on it. Continue to spread the word, to all family, friends, anyone you meet, particularly discuss it with shop and business owners. Ask the question, “How do you plan to cope when the blackouts come? Are you thinking of buying a generator? I’m having second thoughts about the portable generator, but I have gas for cooking and heating. WE MUST KEEP THOSE COAL FIRED GENERATORS GOING, TO KEEP OUR SOCIETY FROM HAVING A BLACKOUT ATTACK!
