Those pushing the ‘Transition to Renewables’ have to be stopped from polluting our off shore oceans with wind turbines. The contamination and unintended consequences will last for 100 years and beyond.
I believe that any sensible person would realise that it is impossible to ever consider removing the huge concrete bases, steel towers 280m high, all connected with cables etc from the offshore oceans in depths of 100m or more.
In twenty years’, time when these wind factories have reached the end of their working life, these offshore oceans will become wind turbine graveyards. Marking the death nell of all fishing industries, tourism and associated activities. And all shore side cities and towns
But those considering putting these monstrosities into our pristine oceans don’t consider anything or anybody but Australia becoming a Renewable Energy Superpower. As seen by this UTS Institute For Sustainable Futures website https://www.uts.edu.au/isf/news/offshore-wind-could-make-australia-energy-superpower
Nowhere on the UTS website is any concern of. 1. The iconic (migrating and localised) birds that may be slaughtered to extinction. 2. Of the disruption to the sea creatures (crabs, octopus, etc who inhabit the sea floor 3. Of the fishing grounds damaged beyond repair (imagine trying to trawl amongst the turbines). 4. Of the deep-sea fishing tourist industry placed at risk of being damaged. 5. Of the whale migration routes disrupted, along with the ‘whale watching’ industry. 6. Of the shipping and yachts, placed in danger particularly in bad weather. 7. Of the difficulty of shipping navigating into major ports, particularly at night, in fog and in storms. 8. Of the hazards to low flowing aircraft, particularly search and rescue, compounded in bad weather. 9. I am sure there are many more you can add?
All for what?
Wind turbines will never deliver the actual rated (quoted or potential) capacity as against the actual physical capacity delivered. Even on UTS’s website it says the actual capacity of offshore wind turbines averages between 45% and 55%.
So, when the Star of the South, (a project under consideration off South Gippsland) states that it has the potential to generate 2.23GW of electricity, powering 1.2 million homes across Victoria.
A more accurate statement is that it may produce 2.2GW of electricity on an average of 10 to 12 hours a day. And it may power 1.2 million homes for 10 to 12 hours a day. Those 1.2 million homes would need to have a backup alternative source of electricity on standby at all times, as the supply from Star of the South could cut out at any time. THIS PRODUCTION IS COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE IN A MODERN ECONOMY.
This uncertainty in supply is because offshore wind turbines can only generate electricity when the wind speed is between 12 and 80 kms/hr. If the wind is calm, no electricity is generated and if the wind speed is over 80km/hr the wind turbines have to be shut down in order that they don’t spin out of control and disintegrate. To help ensure that this widespread pollution is stopped as soon as possible. Join Rural, Coastal and City, Australians from all walks of life and all across Australia in a protest rally in Canberra on the 6th February 2024. You can follow and support the “National Rally against Reckless Renewables” on their Facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/RallyAgainstRecklessness/
If you can’t go yourself, you can support the Rally at their Go Fund Me Page Reckless Renewables Rally 6/2/24 https://www.gofundme.com/f/stop-the-reckless-rollout-of-unreliable-power?utm_campaign=p_cp+share-sheet&utm_medium=copy_link_all&utm_source=customer
THE FRAGILITY OF OUR ENERGY GRID UNDERLINES WHY THE LIDDELL COAL FIRED POWER STATION SHOULD HAVE NEVER BEEN CLOSED
May I strongly urge all business owners, large and small. CEO’s Managers, those in charge of aged care homes, and other public institutions, everyone in a position of management. Homeowners, etc. Blackouts are a diabolically, serious issue. Talk with your management, boards, staff about how it will affect your business. Prepare plans to cope.
WE NEED TO KEEP WHAT BASE LOAD POWER WE HAVE, AND IT IS IRRESPONSIBLE TO CLOSE A COAL FIRED POWER STATION BEFORE RELIABLE POWER GENERATORS ARE IN PLACE.
Continue to promote our petition as widely as possible. https://www.change.org/p/blackouts-will-be-devastating-they-must-be-avoided-at-all-costs I would value it if you are able to donate $20 or $50 to promote the petition on Change.org and also promote it on Facebook, Twitter, Whatsapp or Email.
KEEP INFORMED BY DAILY MONITORING THE AEMO DATA DASHBOARD. And alert your friends to watch the AEMO dashboard, the more know what's happening the better.
Particularly at 7pm and 7am (Or a time that suits you?) watch (and record) the mix of coal, gas hydro, batteries, solar and wind generation and the prices per MWh for each State on the AEMO dashboard.
Example: 21st January 10.40pm EDST. Batteries 0%, Biomass 0%, Black Coal 50%, Brown Coal 12%, Gas 11%, Hydro 10% Diesel 0% Solar 0%, Wind 17% (The unreliables Batteries, Solar and Wind a total of 17%). Solar has gone for its daily 16-hour sleep.
FOR A GENERATOR TO BE PAID TO BE IDLE FOR 66% OF EACH AND EVERY DAY FOR 365 DAYS A YEAR. JUST GOES TO SHOW THE RUSH TO RECKLESS RENEWABLES IS THE MOST FUTILE PROGRAM IMAGINABLE. THOSE PROMOTING THE PROGRAM HAVE TAKEN LEAVE OF THEIR SENSES
We are up to 2,690 signatures, let’s increase it by many more, everyone’s future depends on it. Continue to spread the word, to all family, friends, anyone you meet, particularly discuss it with shop and business owners. Ask the question, “How do you plan to cope when the blackouts come? Are you thinking of buying a generator? I’m having second thoughts about the portable generator, but I have gas for cooking and heating. WE MUST KEEP THOSE COAL FIRED GENERATORS GOING, TO KEEP THE REFRIGERATORS AND FREEZERS FROM THAWING OUT.
