On Thursday 30th November in Martin Place Sydney, Country people from across NSW, with some from Victoria and Queensland will rally to protest against.
1. AUSTRALIA’S (And that personally includes yours) RELIABLE 24/7 ELECTRICITY SUPPLY BECOMING PERMANENTLY UNRELIABLY RATIONED.
Australia is reaching a point of no return where by closing reliable coal fired power stations and replacing them with unreliable, solar farms (which only have fuel ‘the Sun’ for max 9hrs or 37% of each day), wind farms (fueled by intermittent wind, which powers the wind turbines to generate for an Industry stated average of 35% or 8 hrs of the plated average per day) and batteries, which generate no power themselves and if there is no surplus electricity remain flat. The unreliables can only on average generate, maybe 20% of requirements at night
THIS COULD EASILY CREATE A SITUATION WHERE ELECTRICITY WILL BE RATIONED AND AUSTRALIA BECOMES A THIRD WORLD NATION!!!!
(IN FACT, IT IS ALREADY HAPPENING WITH THE AEMO PAYING INDUSTRY TO CLOSE SOME OF THEIR OPERATIONS AT TIMES OF HIGH ELECTRICITY DEMAND).
It will take five to ten years to bring online new High Energy Low Emissions (HELE) coal fired, gas powered or even longer nuclear powered generators. It will be a very difficult time of power rationing, that should have easily been avoided.
EVEN WORSE IT COULD RESULT IN A SYSTEM BLACK EVENT WHERE BECAUSE OF A NEAR TOTAL RELIANCE ON 'UNRELIABLES' THE SYSTEM COLLAPSES AND THE WHOLE EAST COAST OF AUSTRALIA PLUS SA IS BLACKED OUT. A graphic description of the results of an East States wide System Black Event was written in an article in the Cairns News. (Note be warned it is terrifying)
2. PROTEST AGAINST ‘THE TRANSITION TO UNRELIABLES CAUSING A BLIGHT’ WHICH IS SPREADING HAVOC IN SO MANY AREAS OF RURAL AUSTRALIA BY:
1. Permanently removing, millions of hectares of agricultural land from production and permanently contaminating offshore oceans
2. Hugely increasing the risk of uncontrollable wildfires, which will threaten the safety of Country living.
3. Slaughter our unique wildlife in numbers leading to extinction.
4. Permanently pollute land, along with surface and underground water runoff.
5. Blighting the renowned scenic beauty and peacefulness of the landscape.
6. Despoiling tourism attractions.
7. Devaluing land values and country lifestyles.
8. REFs intermittent and unreliable renewable electricity production increases electricity prices for both country and city.
9. Australia’s national security is at risk, with a large part of our electricity production and distribution being controlled by foreign companies.
Please promote our petition as widely as possible. https://www.change.org/p/blackouts-will-be-devastating-they-must-be-avoided-at-all-costs I would value it if you are able to donate $20 or $50 to promote the petition on Change.org and also promote it on Facebook, Twitter, Whatsapp or Email.
KEEP INFORMED BY DAILY MONITORING THE AEMO DATA DASHBOARD. And alert your friends to watch the AEMO dashboard, the more know what's happening the better.
Particularly at 7pm and 7am (Or a time that suits you?) watch (and record) the mix of coal, gas hydro, batteries, solar and wind generation and the prices per MWh for each State on the AEMO dashboard.
Example: 26 Nov 8.40pm EDST. Batteries 2%, Biomass 0%, Black Coal 54%, Brown Coal 15%, Gas 5%, Hydro 9% Diesel 0% Solar 0%, Wind 15% (The unreliables Batteries, Solar and Wind a total of just 16%).
With, SA having 10% batteries, 12% gas, 0% solar and 78% wind. Wow SA 88%, unreliables, but on a calm night, that could that drop to only 10%?
Unreliables can be cheap for a few hours. But it is the average over 24hrs, that matters on your electricity bill.
We are up to 2,534 signatures, let’s increase it by many more, everyone’s future depends on it. Continue to spread the word, to all family, friends, anyone you meet, particularly discuss it with shop and business owners. Ask the question, “How do you plan to cope when the blackouts come? Are you thinking of buying a generator? I’m having second thoughts about the portable generator, but I have gas for cooking and heating. WE MUST KEEP THOSE COAL FIRED GENERATORS GOING, TO KEEP THE LIGHTS ON AND EVERYTHING FUNCTIONING.
