Hi Team members,

THE DEATH OF THE SOLAR INDUSTRY BEGINS

THUNDERBOLT SOLAR FARM ABANDONED. The Thunderbolt Energy Hub is located in New South Wales between the towns of Bendemeer and Kentucky, https://thunderboltenergyhub.com.au/

From the website. Update 22/12/2022. We would like to take this opportunity to provide you with a brief update on Thunderbolt Solar Farm.

Despite a strong level of support from the local community for the solar farm, Neoen has decided to withdraw our plans for the Thunderbolt Solar Farm. This means that we will not be submitting a Development Application for the solar farm project.

The main reason for withdrawing the project is the growing uncertainty within the large-scale solar market. The forecast power prices for NSW solar are continuing to decrease, making it very difficult for large-scale solar farms across the state to sell the power generated at a competitive price. One key reason for the decreasing power prices for solar is the rapid rate at which rooftop solar is being installed on domestic houses – this drives the prices down that solar farms can expect to receive due to the over-supply of solar power generated during the middle of the day. We would like to thank the community for their interest in and support of our project and wish you all the best. We look forward to keeping you updated regarding our Thunderbolt Wind Farm developments.

OFFSHORE WIND FACTORIES DIE UN-ECONOMICLY FROM: 1). Supply chain disruptions and delays (lack of available specialized ships), 2) high interest rates, 3) high inflation, 4) high energy, materials and labor costs. https://www.windtaskforce.org/profiles/blogs/world-s-largest-offshore-wind-system-developer-abandons-two-major

Would you believe the Federal Government provide REF’s for each GWh of electricity they produce, a Large Scale Generation Certificate (LSGC). LSGC’s are currently worth $46. Electricity retailers have to purchase LSGC’s as part of their agreement. They then add the cost onto their electricity bills. Without these Large Scale Generation Certificates, REFs would go broke. And consumers would have much cheaper electricity bills.

THE TRANSITION TO RENEWABLES WILL COLLAPSE IN A HEAP VERY SOON.

When this happens, it will be vitally important that our current coal fired power stations be kept running and the closed ones restarted.

Please promote our petition as widely as possible. https://www.change.org/p/blackouts-will-be-devastating-they-must-be-avoided-at-all-costs I would value it if you are able to donate $20 or $50 to promote the petition on Change.org and also promote it on Facebook, Twitter, Whatsapp or Email.

KEEP INFORMED BY DAILY MONITORING THE AEMO DATA DASHBOARD. And alert your friends to watch the AEMO dashboard, the more know what's happening the better.

Particularly at 7pm and 7am (Or a time that suits you?) watch (and record) the mix of coal, gas hydro, batteries, solar and wind generation and the prices per MWh for each State on the AEMO dashboard.

Example:31st Oct 8.15pm EDST. Batteries 1%, Biomass 0%, Black Coal 48%, Brown Coal 15%, Gas 9%, Hydro 13% Diesel 0% Solar 0%, Wind 14% (The unreliables Solar and Wind total of 14%),

Solar has gone sleepy-byes as the Sun has set. (Is it not madness, to have an electricity generator that can only at maximum, produce electricity for nine hours a day? The other fifteen hours of a day it produces zero electricity).

But if it was a calm night as well, then the AEMO would be needing those coal fired generators to be filling the gap left by the unreliables. Unreliables can be cheap for a few hours. But it is the average over 24hrs, that matters on your electricity bill.

We are up to 2,417 signatures, let’s increase it by many more, everyone’s future depends on it. Continue to spread the word, to all family, friends, anyone you meet, particularly discuss it with shop and business owners. Ask the question, “How do you plan to cope when the blackouts come? Are you thinking of buying a generator? I’m having second thoughts about the portable generator, but I have gas for cooking and heating. WE MUST KEEP THOSE COAL FIRED GENERATORS GOING.
