From our petition to all Federal and State Energy Ministers, WE REMIND ALL OF YOU THAT YOU HAVE THE NUMBER ONE RESPONSIBILITY TO GUARANTEE TO PROVIDE to all citizens, businesses, homes, public utilities hospitals, nursing homes, schools, etc., in every State in Australia, A CONSTANT, RELIABLE SUPPLY OF BASE LOAD ELECTRICITY, 24/HRS/DAY, 7 DAYS/WEEK.
Most importantly to achieve this objective, is the requirement that every electricity generator bidding to supply electricity to the Grid via the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO). Should have sufficient fuel available to be able to bid to supply electricity at every minute, of every hour, of every day, of the year. Otherwise, if they are only able to bid at extremely limited times of the day, to supply electricity to the market, then they distort the market and lead to exorbitantly high electricity prices.
This inability to bid at any time of the day, owing to a shortage of fuel. Is the huge reason why electricity generators driven by solar panels or wind turbines, should be banned from supplying electricity to the National Grid via the AEMO.
To explain. Solar panels are powered by a weather fuel Sunshine. At 12am, every day the Solar fuel tank is empty and will remain empty for the next seven to eight hours, until the Sun rises at 7am or 8am. If the weather is fine there may be nine hours of fuel available. But this is uncertain and subject to cloud cover and the fuel tank can suddenly be empty at any time. Beginning between 5pm and 6pm, the Solar fuel tank becomes empty and remains empty for the next six to seven hours. This means the fuel tank for solar panels is empty for a minimum of fifteen hours of everyday and could be empty for even up to the whole day.
ROOFTOP SOLAR PANELS AND SOLAR FARMS ONLY HAVING FUEL AVAILABLE, FOR A MAXIMUM OF 40% OF EVERY DAY, WITH SOME DAYS VERY LITTLE OR NOTHING. SHOULD NEVER BE CONSIDERED FOR POWERING A MODERN SOCIETY.
Adding batteries to the mix only makes the situation worse and only increases the cost to the consumer. Batteries do not make electricity only store it, if there is an excess, which is highly unlikely. Batteries release less electricity than they take in, and once discharged are useless until they can be recharged.
As for Wind Turbines they are powered by a weather fuel the Wind. At 12am there is no certainty that the Wind fuel tank will have any fuel available as the weather may be calm. Because Wind Turbines can only produce electricity, when the wind speed is between 12kms/hr and 90kms/hr, Wind Turbines are reported to produce electricity on average for only 30% of their rated capacity or on average for eight hours per day. Wind Turbines can be becalmed by ‘Wind Droughts’ for days at a time, producing no electricity at all. Equally if a gale blows for several days zero electricity is produced.
WIND TURBINES CAN NEVER BE RELIED ON TO PROVIDE ELECTRICITY WHEN IT IS REQUIRED AND SHOULD NEVER BE CONSIDERED AS A VIABLE GENERATOR FOR GENERATING BASE LOAD ELECTRICITY TO THE GRID 24/7.
KEEP INFORMED BY DAILY MONITORING THE AEMO DATA DASHBOARD. And alert your friends to watch the AEMO dashboard, the more know what's happening the better.
Particularly at 7pm and 7am (Or a time that suits you?) watch (and record) the mix of coal, gas hydro, batteries, solar and wind generation and the prices per MWh for each State on the AEMO dashboard.
IT IS VITALLY IMPORTANT THAT NO CLOSED COAL FIRED POWER STATION BE DEMOLISHED AS THEY CERTAINLY WILL BE NEEDED IN THE FUTURE.
