For Solar Panels it is 15 to 20 years before they need replacing and the environmental disaster of disposal arrives. With Wind Turbines it is 15 to 20 years (offshore in seawater it can be as little as 10 years) before the blades and turbines need replacing and the environmental disaster of disposal arrives.
With coal fired, gas fired and nuclear driven electricity generators the working life is more like a minimum of 50 years. Plus as they can be plugged into existing transmission lines, the need for an extra 28,000 kilometres of transmission lines is not required, meaning a huge saving to taxpayers/consumers.
Overshadowing the rush to transition to unreliable solar and wind is the very swift moves being undertaken to commercialize Small Modular Nuclear Reactors.
THERE IS A WORLD WIDE DEMAND FOR EMISSION FREE, RELIABLE, ELECTRICITY GENERATION. SUCH A DEMAND WILL BRING THE AVAILABILITY AND COMMERCIALIZATION OF SMALL MODULAR NUCLEAR REACTORS IN A TIME FRAME PREVIOUSLY THOUGHT IMPOSSIBLE (2030?).
When that happens all the Solar Panels/Factories, Wind Turbine Factories and attached Transmission Lines will become redundant, blights of environmental damaging junk across Australian farm lands and landscape. Leaving many companies and landholders with huge debts and worthless land.
IT WOULD BE BETTER IF A RETHINK WAS UNDERTAKEN NOW AND THE TRANSITION TO UNRELIABLE SOLAR AND WIND ELECTRICITY GENERATION WAS TO STOP NOW.

Particularly at 7pm and 7am (Or a time that suits you?) watch (and record) the mix of coal, gas hydro, batteries, solar and wind generation and the prices per MWh for each State on the AEMO dashboard.
IT IS VITALLY IMPORTANT THAT NO CLOSED COAL FIRED POWER STATION BE DEMOLISHED AS THEY CERTAINLY WILL BE NEEDED IN THE FUTURE AS THE REALITY OF THE FAILURE OF UNRELIABLE SOLAR AND WIND BECOMES A REALITY.
