Hi Team,

We are all in this together, with the purpose of alerting politicians and the community of the dire consequences if blackouts are allowed to occurr through the gross incompetence of our politicians and those in charge of managing our electricity systems.

I would like you to read the important comments made by two of our team.

Sandra Orme: I totally agree it is our politicians responsibility to ensure we have enough power at all times. Blackouts are also a NATIONAL SECURITY risk as computers shut down, surveillance equipment does not work, emergency service cannot be contacted - EVERYTHING in our modern life is dependent on electricity - even my gas heater & hot plates won't start without electricity. We would not be able to access any money, travel (petrol pumps need electricity to operate), buy food/medications/etc, communicate by phone or computer. The country would come to its knees very quickly.

David Newton: Without thermal power stations it becomes difficult to control system frequency and voltage control is also more difficult. In order to guarantee electricity power supplies thermal power stations are essential. (What David is saying here, is that if there is too much intermittent renewable power in the system, it can become unstable and create a blackout. JM) Also, without conventional power generation the recovery from a power system collapse becomes extremely difficult to restart. The alleged "carbon/CO2 problem" is not supported by objective science. (In other words it’s a myth, in order for some people to make money from renewable Govt’ subsidies and carbon taxes JM).

Team, as you can see blackouts will have far reaching implications for everyone. Please discuss it with everyone you meet, continue to share it on social media and support the promotion of this petition financially as you are able.
