Blacklist Corina Boettger from voice acting work for any meaningful duration.

Blacklist Corina Boettger from voice acting work for any meaningful duration.
The Issue
Many SAG-AFTRA members have acted in controversial ways regarding an unofficial strike against MiHoYo, especially towards Jacob Takanashi who recently took a voice acting role in Genshin Impact.
That said, one voice actor in particular, Corina Boettger, has drawn significant criticism for behavior that some argue falls short of the transparency and professionalism expected from voice actors of her caliber.
A striking display of this negative behavior during the strike was a video on their TikTok account where they made unevidenced, disparaging claims about YouTubers. Included in this video were statements including "YouTubers don't know anything" and "They have more incentive to lie." These claims had no evidence supporting these claims or refuting the claims YouTubers have made against their cause.
They later claimed on their Bluesky account that they have "learned that the tiktok [in question] was AI [and not their] original tiktok." They have also said "So yeah... maybe don't listen to reddit at all" without any reasoning as to why we should not listen to Reddit posts, presumably about them. They doubled down, also on Bluesky, saying that YouTubers knew it was AI and do not care. As you can guess, this was also without evidence supporting this claim.
While they did later say they got this got mixed up with an AI video which featured an AI Paimon voice, which does exist. This mixup seems unlikely, even if possible, due to the thumbnail of the post containing the video they previously claimed was AI being unmistakable for the AI Paimon video, even if that thumbnail is obscured by a translucent play button. Even after this, they did not apologize for their original tiktok.
SAG-AFTRA, the union Corina Boettger is in as a FI-CORE (unknown if correct spelling) member, also has very problematic and monopolistic terms. Their global rule one states: "No member shall render any services or make an agreement to perform services for any employer who has not executed a basic minimum agreement with the union, which is in full force and effect, in any jurisdiction in which there is a SAG-AFTRA national collective bargaining agreement in place. This provision applies worldwide." While, as far as I have heard, FI-CORE members are allowed to work non-union, this still puts pressure on companies to work with SAG-AFTRA.
Another problematic SAG-AFTRA term comes from Section 6 of a 2024 ILA sample, stating "Employer will only employ performers covered by this agreement who are members of SAG-AFTRA in good standing or those who shall make application on the thirtieth (30th) day following the beginning of employment, and thereafter maintain such membership in good standing as a condition of employment" and additionally "Employer shall pay to SAG-AFTRA, as liquidated damages, the sum of Five Hundred Dollars ($500) for each breach by the Employer of the provisions of this Section."
Despite this section also including "Nothing in this agreement will be construed as preventing Employer from hiring non-SAG-AFTRA members in accordance with the Taft-Hartlet Act", this still is monopolistic due to punishing hiring actors who are not in SAG-AFTRA or do not join SAG-AFTRA.
We request that studios and industry decision-makers, at least for the time being, reevaluate professional partnerships with Corina Boettger based on recent conduct, as well as other SAG-AFTRA voice actors with similar conduct. The intent is to prompt industry leaders to reexamine partnerships based on documented actions and ensure professional accountability.
All information gathered is publicly available and documented. No information here is intended as a personal attack against Corina, and the maker of the petition does not condone - nor assumes responsibility for - harassment, threats, or violence against Corina, their loved ones, or SAG-AFTRA.
