Hello Human Fam,

In my research I have come across another mortifying and needless death of a black woman, CaSonya King, caused by careless physicians in MA as noted in report by MA Disability Law Center and reported by WBUR in this article

Like Jean Busch she was “patient dumped” and like Jean Busch she paid for it with her life.

Here are some quotes by Disability Law Center expressing the tragic and needlessness of her death:

"There hasn't been an account of her death publicly, and there hasn't been accountability for her death," said Rick Glassman, director of advocacy for the Disability Law Center. "This is a woman who — later in life — began experiencing mental health issues. Prior to that, she was a very successful professional and a homeowner. This woman died needlessly.”

Here is a quote by the same report talking about the all to common practice of patient dumping (which DMH tried to do to me 3 times) and, again, which Jean and CaSonya (and how many others?) have paid for with their lives:

"The tragedy of CaSonya King’s unnecessary death appears attributable to, an all-too-common practice called patient dumping," the DLC report says. "Patient dumping occurs when a hospital denies emergency medical care or inappropriately discharges a current patient, either upon learning that the individual is unable to pay for treatment, or for another reason.”

As we can see by the evidence outlined in this petition there is little question that queer, black and brown lives are being ended needlessly by psychiatric care in MA.

I have on question that may be on many of our minds: How many queer and black deaths are going to be enough? How much evidence does there have to be before MA takes action?

I am in a whirlwind of pain, grief and fury at this latest development. If your feelings echo mine then let's do something about this. Share, post, reach out to other influencer and artists.

If you want to get more directly involved in advocating for, what I am now starting sense is a movement, please email us at matransgenderrights@proton.me.

Let’s put an end to this now!!
