Alok Sharma MP the minister in charge of the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy said that Post Office CEO's, directors and staff both past and present would NOT be compelled to give evidence to this whitewash review they have planned. The same would apply to government ministers that sit on the board. This is just not acceptable. He said he hopes morally they will do the right thing and give evidence.....wait a minute.....when have the Post Office or government ministers done the morally right thing in the past 20 years with this scandal? Even during the litigation they attempted to sack the judge, bring the court into terrorem and deliberately mislead the High Court Judge. This is just not acceptable to any victim in this scandal. Paul Scully MP the Postal Affairs minister said this review would be on par with a judicial inquiry....now you can see for yourself everything that we have said is true, this review is both 'pointless and pathetic'....watch that short 5 minute clip above and you will see the government plans to try bury this scandal as fast as possible.
When you watch the clip, note that Nick Read the new CEO of Post Office is taking responsibility for presenting the whole history of the case. This is the man, who only joined Post Office in September 2019, and in a written answer to a question put to him by the BEIS Committee about an issue with Horizon, stated,
'I first became aware of the position as found by the High Court when the Horizon judgment was handed down. As I was not involved at the time, I do not wish to speculate how Post Office's knowledge of remote access issues evolved over time'.
Yet he is going to be Post Office's Guru at the whitewash 'review' that is being planned, but I forget, according to the clip, there will be another witness – the National Federation of Subpostmasters, and we all know what the Court said about them!
We cannot and will not allow that to happen.

As you are all aware I set off on the official C2C cycle from Whitehaven to Sunderland on Wednesday 8th July at 3pm and arriving 1 mile past Consett by 4pm on Friday 10th July, covering 110 miles in total. Today I will be setting off from Leadgate in Consett where I ended yesterday to complete the final 24 miles into Sunderland and down to Roker Seafront at the North Sea between 2pm and 3pm, which will end the 135 mile trip within the target I set of 72 hours. If you prefer to donate this way meaning at least 25% will go to 3 charities (NHS Charity Together, Mental Health Charity 'Mind' and Food Bank Charities) then please use the link below to do so.
Please note as the amount needed for the crowdfunding reduces after many generous pledges it means that If I was to raise the full £50,000 target I set, a HUGE 65% of that would now end up with the charities!
