The Traditional Latin Mass is Heaven on Earth

Faithful Catholics of the Diocese of Stockton would like to bring the Traditional Latin Mass to Stockton.

In recent years, many Catholics, both young and old, have rediscovered their liturgical heritage and gravitated toward the older form of the Mass due to its clear transmission of the Truths of our faith, such as the sacrificial nature of the Mass, reverence for God, and connection with our Catholic ancestors and saints.

Ninety-three percent of U.S. dioceses have parishes where Catholics can attend the Traditional Mass – many have multiple!

In July 2007, Pope Benedict XVI issued a motu proprio called Summorum Pontificum promoting the Traditional Latin Mass. This document states that the Latin Mass used before Vatican II has always been allowed, and further stated that any priest of the Roman Rite may celebrate this "extraordinary form" of the Mass whenever he desires.  It also states that priests and laypeople have a fundamental right to this form of the Mass and presupposes that bishops will generously heed such a request.
