Today Bishop Michael Kennedy did a massive back-down and back-flip by Media Release emailed to me this afternoon. The Bishop have reversed his strategy and abandoned his plans for a permanent memorial in the grounds of the Armidale Catholic Cathedral. Ironically, it was sent to me just minutes after a final promotion boosted the numbers past the 480 signature mark on the last day of the petition. Tomorrow we will claim victory and the petition will be sent in full to all the named addressees. Hope that by then the numbers will cross the 500 threshold and I will update you then. Thank you for your support You are all invited to join us at the fence of the Cathedral in Armidale NSW (Dangar Street) at 10:45 for 11am where we will be conducting a memorial for lost victims who are known to have suicided as a result of the Institutional Child Sexual Abuse within the Catholic Church in Armidale and at O'Connor Catholic High School (now College). We intend to release helium filled balloons one for each lost, silenced victim tied to a ribbon and with their name on it. If the Bishop is officiating the 10am mass, as he originally planned, we will request him to come and tie some ribbons on the fence with victims and supporters and to bless the balloons and ribbons.
