Please show your support tonight if you can at Rockford’s Historic Preservation Commission meeting where the Commissioners are scheduled to vote at 5:30pm at City Council Chambers on the application for local landmark status for the Chancery, St. Peter’s School and the Convent.
I’m also attaching a link to a guest column published today in the Rockford Register Star written by my brother, Bill Morrissey. Bill does a great job capturing the spirit of our Catholic Faith and the scriptural basis that helped drive our family’s personal commitment and vision to invest in Rockford’s West Side.
Literally on the adjacent block to the Chancery and St. Peter’s the Bishop could visit the Old Garrison school that is not the Garrison Lofts & Townhomes. Our father invested there because of his faith in God and his faith that Rockford could be a better place if we simply did the work necessary with the talent and resources that God gave us.
