Help save the Prince of Wales in Moseley

The Issue

Generations of people of all ages have enjoyed the convivial atmosphere of Moseley’s famous Prince of Wales and its eclectic appeal makes it unique among Birmingham pubs - a local with a reputation that stretches far beyond the city’s boundaries. It is a truly welcoming place - a pub that has something for everyone…crafts ales, artisan rums, outstanding whiskies, street food, televised sport, charity events, music, quizzes and much more. It’s a key part of Moseley - a suburb that prizes individual, independent and quirky businesses, a rare thing in a world full of identikit, corporate high streets. Now the viability of the Prince of Wales, a gorgeous old building dating back more than 150 years, is under threat because greedy developers want to build a a cramped development of posh apartments overshadowing the Moseley landmark. The decision will lie with Birmingham’s councillors. But the impact of what they decide will be faced by local folk and people who travel from far and wide to enjoy the Prince’s hospitality. Don’t let it happen. Make YOUR voice heard and save a great old institution from destruction. We can’t let another part of our heritage disappear to line the pockets of big business investors.
