Last week we finally reached the long awaited magical figure of 5000 signatures! The power of social media is incredible so would like to thank everyone for sharing and supporting. ITV are now taking an interest so watch this space. With the help of friends of the petition, letters have been written to high profile figures such as Prince Charles, Richard Branson and Bill Clinton, you just never know!! Also organsisations such as National Trust and C20 society have been contacted. Myself and a few others have applied to Historic England for listed status. I know of many less significant buildings that have this so would be a mockery if it was rejected due to airport development etc. If everyone was to work together then something special could be done with the building. Meanwhile it has taken the airport 10 weeks to provide alternative accomodation for Elmdon tennants. The eagerly awaited VIP portacabins had suddenly evolved into second hand shipping containers when they arrived on site last Friday...not exactly the image you want to portray to the VVIP customers! On more positive news there has been a glimmer of hope this morning that the damage could be repaired afterall but we shall see, this changes on a daily basis! Please encourage others to keep signing, we will get this to parliament one day!
