My daughter attends Richland High School in North Richland Hills, Texas. Their mascot is the rebels and a confederate flag. It is disrespectful and on many occasions has given parents, students and others the belief that this gives them a pass to be racist to minorities that attend the school. 

We are in the 21st century no longer are we in segregated times and in fact we should have never ever been. It stuns me that this was even permitted. Please help students feel safe and comfortable in their own school by helping make this change.
