Dear petition signers, Happy fall and November! We have more good news to share! Our advocacy to "keep our park a park" at Brooklyn Bridge Park continues to gain momentum... Our successful temporary restraining order has halted further progress towards developing the Pier 6 site, but we did receive the proposed designs, and have included some of them for your feedback at the link below. **** PIER 6 DESIGNS **** *** "Where did the park GO?" *** http://media.virbcdn.com/files/16/12445be68b407ea1-PresentationNov5renderingsfinal.pdf Importantly, there is no financial justification to build at Pier 6. Brooklyn Bridge Park is fully funded. Please consider sharing our presentation with your friends, neighbors, and park lovers ... and asking them to sign the change.org petition or email the mayor! Can you find 3 people to join us? http://www1.nyc.gov/office-of-the-mayor/contact-the-mayor.page Brooklyn is the fastest growing borough (3.5% 2010-2013) and projected to grow 11.3% between 2010 and 2040 by NYC's demographers... Brooklyn is the borough with the least park space. We need our precious open and green spaces to foster healthy and vibrant communities in Brooklyn. Why are we sticking to a decade old plan from the Bloomberg and Pataki administrations when Brooklyn is being transformed by a visionary, new mayor? Most gratefully, Lori and Save Pier 6
