Dear one-of-a-kind community, Your bright, shinning, and stalwart spirits are needed once more to ask for public space, green space, and a welcoming grand entrance to Brooklyn Bridge Park at Pier 6! Date: Thursday, July 30, 6-9 PM Location: St. Francis College, 180 Remsen St. New York State must: • Honor Their Commitment to Limit Housing in the Park • Eliminate the Overcrowding Crisis at P.S. 8 • Fix Traffic On Joralemon Street, the Loop Road and Other Gridlock Points • Eliminate Any More Housing In The Flood Zone • Make Atlantic Avenue the Gateway Entrance It Was Supposed to Be Write to Rose-Marie Mahase, brooklynbridgepark@esd.ny.gov at 633 Third Avenue, New York, NY 10017. Proper planning should be based on current circumstances, not a decade-old environmental review. Tell NY State that dramatic changes in school over-crowding, traffic, pedestrians, park finances (given the real estate boom), flood zones, hospital closings and other changes in the past decade warrant study in a supplemental environmental impact statement (SEIS) and mitigation, as required by law. Join the Brooklyn Heights Association, the Willowtown Association, and all other neighbors in opposing new park housing at Pier 6. Long-standing community agreements to minimize park development must be honored! *** Sunshine filled wishes for a beautiful summer! Let's continue to advocate for communities as places to live, work, play! and eat! healthy and fun places make for strong communities!
