After a baseless and retaliatory investigation and termination hearing based on trumped up charges, Central Park East 1 teacher (and union chapter chair), Marilyn Martinez, was CLEARED OF ALL CHARGES! This is an extremely rare decision as only 4% of NYC teachers who go through these hearings are fully exonerated. But we need your help to tell the Mayor that the DOE needs to bring Marilyn back to her classroom immediately and that the campaign of harassment against teachers and parents must be stopped. This pattern of retaliation and abuse by Principal Monika Garg is what led us to begin the Save CPE1 campaign. Today, with two of our teachers having been removed from the classroom (with one exonerated and one still awaiting a decision), two parents banned from the school, more children hurt by Garg's actions and a total deterioration of trust and community, we are more convinced than ever that Monika Garg must go.
