Hi everyone,
“Just because this specific bill is "dead" doesn’t mean it can’t come back in another form. Quite frankly, this is getting enough attention now that people can rally behind it. People are mad now and what you’re doing is so incredibly special.” – A supporter via email.
First and foremost, thank you. I never could have imagined this movement growing the way it has, and it’s all because of you. We’re now closing in on 5,000 signatures - a huge milestone for this campaign - and we’ve raised over $3,000 in donations on here to get this campaign going. It takes a village to raise a child, and it takes that same village to carry a grieving family through their darkest days, and we're so thankful.
Behind the scenes, I’ve been working hard to connect with people across Canada. I’ve reached out to major advocacy groups for support and guidance on our next steps, and I’ve also been in touch with the Criminal Justice program at Mount Royal University, which has been an amazing resource.
As I’ve said before, I won’t stop speaking up - for Maddie, for every innocent life taken, and for all survivors. I will keep pushing, I will keep talking, and I will not let this be forgotten.
Mark your calendars: On September 6th, we’ll be holding another rally at the Calgary Courts Centre from 11:30 AM – 2:00 PM.
