Hi everyone,

I just want to say thank you… again.

I never imagined I’d be here — grieving the loss of my cousin Madisson and trying to push for real change at the same time. This has been the hardest thing I’ve ever gone through. I started this petition because I had to. Because staying silent wasn’t an option after what happened to Maddie. But that doesn’t mean any of this has been easy.

Over the past few weeks, there’s been a lot of attention surrounding this story - including outreach from media. I truly appreciate the interest and the effort to raise awareness. But I also want to be honest: I’m still grieving, and navigating that in such a public way has been incredibly difficult. Right now, I’m being very intentional with where I put my energy - and sometimes, that means stepping back to protect my peace, process the grief and work in the background to keep voicing for this and for all of us. 

If I haven’t been able to respond to every message or show up at every event, please know it’s not because I don’t care. I care more than I can explain - that’s why I’m here. But I also need time to take care of myself and process this as it comes.

With that being said — we’re not done. We’ll be holding another rally this September. I’ll share more details soon, but I wanted you to know now: this movement isn’t slowing down. We’re only just getting started.
