Hi, all. I just wanted you to know that I've sent out two more
packets containing my thyroid petition, plus a good cover letter.
I paid for tracking, and I learned they just arrived at their destinations,
yesterday. Here's where I sent them:
One went to First Lady Dr. Jill Biden's office at the White House.
I recently read that she got her husband, President Biden, to launch
the White House Initiative on Women's Health Research. There will
be $100 million dollars in federal funding that'll go towards this.
Although it's true that I started this petition because of my late
brother Jordan's thyroid situation, it's also true that far more
females than males get thyroid problems. And many need better
help with them (no matter what gender you are.)
I pointed this out in my cover letter to the First Lady, and I hope
she'll help us get more thyroid research & assistance included in
her Women's Health Reseach initiative. I also hope if this happens,
that whatever they learn or discover can also benefit males in
some ways, with thyroid disease. I know my brother would say
to "get whatever help you can with it, however you can." So,
that's what I'm doing.
I also sent a similar cover letter and petition copy to the Chair
of the White House Initiative on Women's Health Research,
Dr. Carolyn Mazure. She's in charge of working on all this,
and her office is also at the White House. So, we'll see if
anyone responds, and hope for the best.
The petition had 7,840 signatures on the day I sent it. It has
a few more, right now. I'll be trying to think of more places
to post about it, or put up flyers with the QR code on it.
I think it's really important to keep trying to get as many
signatures on it as possible, to show that better thyroid
help & diagnosis matters to a lot of people. If you can think
of anyone who'd like to sign, and maybe share the petition,
here's the link:

I probably will be sending a couple more petition packets
off to other places, next month....I have a few people in
mind who might be good to send it to. But for now, let's
see if anyone answers me back in a helpful way,
with what I've sent out, so far.
Thanks to everyone, for signing & sharing the petition.
It really means a lot....I want to see changes made, in the
thyroid world....as they really need to do better for many folks,
including me. And certainly my late brother, my late mom, etc.
Special thanks to anyone who's donated to the petition
on this Change dot org website, as it helps them pay to
send it around to more people who might possibly sign.
I'll keep you posted on any new developments.
I will close this now, by posting my favorite photo of
Jordan and me, when we were little. Best to all....
from Jordan's sister, Starr D.
