Hi,

We have not updated in awhile. Good news is that the Quarry is still a green space. The county purchased a portion for the Walden Ridge Park and momentum is increasing for the remaining property. We need to keep the continuity by retaining our city councilman, Chip Henderson, on March 4th. Please read the following

All residents in the Mountain Creek Corridor are invited to attend a Meet and Greet for our District 1 City Councilman Chip Henderson at Four Squares (1200 Mountain Creek Road) on February 6 between 5:30 and 8PM.  Chip is up for reelection on March 4.
Please attend this session!

As everyone is aware, Councilman Chip Henderson has repeatedly responded to our concerns and taken decisive actions to represent us.

Along with all of you who attended City Council, Chip has been instrumental in defeating multiple PUD applications that would have transformed the Quarry into a dense apartment complex. Even now he is continuing to pursue a positive outcome for this space.

Many of you joined residents of Spring Valley recently to oppose another poorly conceived project at the entrance to Spring Valley. In an unusual turn of events,  the developer withdrew his application in RPA. Credit must be given to the overwhelming turnout and a realization that this project would have been "dead on arrival" in the approval process at City Council with Chip.

Also, as you are likely aware from communications from RPA, the city is "modernizing" our zoning ordinances. What you may not be aware of is that Chip has acted in the interest of District 1 homeowners by insisting that conditions be included that do not allow undermining of R-1 Zoning for lot size and frontage/setback compatibility for District 1. No other Councilman acted similarly to protect their districts

Finally, there has been significant turnover within the City Council since 2020. We need continuity to ensure traction continues for our mission to preserve greenspace and limit density in our neighborhood and.....

MOST IMPORTANTLY: Please help us to get out the vote to retain Chip's leadership in District 1 on March 4.
