In an action not directly related to the development of the Quarry but a few 200 feet from the Quarry property at 1020 Reads Lake Rd.,  the Zoning Board of Appeals met in a Zoom call on June 3 to consider an objection filed by Reads Lake Road residents to an RPA proposed variance. The variance specifically would have allowed bypassing City Ordinance Section 38-44(7)(e) on Lot Frontage Compatibility Calculations.

The developer with RPA consent was seeking to divide the existing property into more and consequently narrower lots than allowed by the ordinance. Chip Henderson attended this call at the request of the neighbors. After a brief presentation by the residents making the case for rejection of the proposal, Chip accurately and fairly framed the issue for the Zoning Appeals Board.  The board then unanimously rejected the variance proposal in an 8 to 0 decision.

This message is being communicated to FOMC supporters to again recognize Chip Henderson for his continued engagement in issues important to his district 1 constituents.

The Friends of Mountain Creek again thanks our 3000+ petition signers for their support of our drive for the most favorable outcome for the Quarry.
