As many of you know, the FOMC Quarry committee is preparing an alternative proposal to support medium density (PUD) development of a portion of the Quarry in exchange for conditions including but not limited to road improvement and preservation of environmental features of the property. This alternative has been forwarded to Chip Henderson for consideration by Mr. Pratt.
Assuming the proposal will not be accepted, Chip Henderson’s resolution to limit the zoning of the Clubhouse to its previously approved use will be presented to the Regional Planning Agency (RPA) Monday, September 10. Since the RPA is pro-development, RPA will likely not recommend support for our argument or the adoption of the resolution by City Council. Either way it is important to demonstrate to the RPA that FOMC supports the resolution. Please attend if you are available. NEXT STEP: City Council Meeting on October 9 at 6PM
This is the meeting where our numbers are very important. Since the resolution may result in litigation between the city and Mr. Pratt, it is possible that some council members will not back Chip Henderson. Therefore, attendance by EVERY FOMC supporter is VITAL at this meeting. Follow up emails will be issued describing the successful campaign undertaken by the FOMC earlier this year to contact council members from all districts to support this measure.
