Good news - we have gathered the necessary signatures for the city council to hold a Development Control Forum on the Westbrook Centre redevelopment. However we still need YOU to respond to the planning application to tell councillors that you want Cambridge to be a city where walking is a safe and convenient option for all.
To comment on the planning application visit https://applications.greatercambridgeplanning.org/online-applications/
Search for reference 24/00622/FUL and click on the Comments tab. You will need to register or log in to comment.
In your comment you may like to describe your experience of walking around the Mitcham's corner area (pictured), and how new walking connections could make this easier and safer. Or perhaps you live further afield but recognise the benefits (for example to congestion, air pollution and carbon emissions) to all city residents of making it easier for people to walk around their local area. You may like to reference the many city and county council policies that aim to promote walking, such as policies 5, 22 and 80 of the Cambridge Local Plan (2018), the Cambridgeshire Active Travel Policy, or the recently adopted Greater Cambridge Air Quality Strategy. But if you don't have time to go into detail even a short comment will be helpful. The consultation deadline is Friday 29th March.
Many thanks for your support,
Nick
