Another Chance to Share Your Voice: Support Transit Where We Need it Most!

Hello All!

I want to drop a quick note to voice appreciation, provide some updates, and share some small ways you can share your voice and continue to move this mission forward!

To date, Metro Transit has not had a single public engagement period on the H Line route, only on the station placement on a route that they had already chosen to replace Local Route 3. This matters on a route like the 3 that splits into the 3A and 3B through the Como Area. 

Last week Metro Transit released an updated report on the H Line. Some key things stood out:

Moving the H Line to the 3B was the #1 most common theme in the public engagement comments. Interestingly, this was not even a question presented in the last public engagement survey, but the public showed up en masse to write-in comments on the route.    

This, along with over 600 petition signatures, sends a clear message: 

We want the H Line to use the 3B where it can serve the most people possible and provide faster, timely, and reliable access where we actually need it: jobs, medical clinics, charter schools, and vital community services.  

Metro Transit has added an additional, final public engagement period that is open now! (they are still not explicitly asking for input on the route, but you CAN write in your own comments in the text boxes).     

How you can help: Participate in Metro Transit's final public engagement survey and share your voice! 

What we're asking is simple:

• Put the H Line on 3B’s business corridor where it can connect thousands more people to jobs, medical and mental health clinics, transit-dependent charter schools, and essential equity resources like shelters, food shelves, and disability & career services — destinations where timely and reliable access makes a real difference.
• Keep the 3A a local route — without BRT infrastructure, we can keep local buses on local roads while preserving flexibility for future improvements to transit access throughout the park as needs evolve.

You can also come to the Como Community Council meeting on Wednesday, September 16th at 6:PM at the Como Park Historic Streetcar Station to join community members and Metro Transit on the topic of the H Line. (1224 Lexington Pkwy N, St Paul, MN 55117)
