Update on Better Transit For More People: Right Bus, Right Place

Hello on this beautiful evening to all our friends and neighbors!
I want to reach out to thank all of you for your support and advocacy on this issue that is close to our heart. Since the start of this initiative, we have heard so many voices, and so many impactful stories that solidify why this small change is an important one.
One more way you can make a difference -- TODAY IS THE LAST DAY OF METRO TRANSIT'S PUBLIC ENGAGEMENT PERIOD -- this is expected to be the final opportunity for the public to weigh in before the line is installed.
You can participate in Metro Transit's public engagement and tell them that this route needs to serve the higher ridership area along 3B! That these stations serve our community better when they provide reliable access to jobs, schools, and medical clinics -- when they support small businesses and corner shops that we value and depend on!
A few hours remain to provide feedback directly to Metro Transit. Click here to fill out their survey: https://metc.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_06v6qalYdPK7asu
With station stops running at an estimated $1.5mil a piece... this feels hard to change once it's in. We're rallying to get it right the first time -- serve those who depend on it most, and provide faster, more dependable transit to destinations that matter the most!
Your voice supports:
-Transit access to charter schools that depend on Metro Transit passes to get to school
-Nearly 6,000 jobs in Energy Park
-Small businesses along Front Avenue (many immigrant and minority owned)
-Over 2,500 more households
-Critical emergency resources, like urgent care and services for the unhoused
As Metro Transit's public engagement period comes to a close, we plan to present this petition to them, the Metropolitan Council, and city officials this week. We encourage you to share the petition, share your voice, and make a positive change in our community that helps to close the gap in opportunity that public transit provides.
Thank you again for your support -- from our committee and from our community. Our voices are stronger together!
