In an interview with the New York Daily News published on April 4th (http://www.nydailynews.com/opinion/transcript-bernie-sanders-meets-news-editorial-board-article-1.2588306 US Presidential Candidate Bernie Sanders said when speaking about Israel that "my recollection is over 10,000 innocent people were killed in Gaza. Does that sound right?" When the interviewer responded "I think it's probably high, but we can look at that." Sanders still continued on with the grossly inaccurate assertion that "...I think it's over 10,000."

Even Hamas, the existing government in Gaza, predicted a total death toll of 1,462 civilians killed in the conflict not 10,000.

Regardless of who we support in the upcoming election, we the undersigned call on Bernie Sanders to immediately retract and disavow his inaccurate and dangerous assertion about the death toll in the conflict in Gaza.
