PNM is planning an extremely large, 4-acre electrical substation in North Albuquerque Acres, south of Paseo Del Norte and west of Browning.  PNM's proposed site is adjacent to residential properties and next door to a church.

A 12-foot block wall will surround the substation, but structures will tower over the wall 40-to-80 feet higher. Several 85-foot steel poles will be installed along Eubank, north and south of Paseo, to run layers of 115kVh transmission lines. 

As members of the North Albuquerque Acres community, we believe that PNM's planned substation and transmission lines are detrimental to health, safety, quiet enjoyment of our property, and semi-rural character of our neighborhood.  

We respectfully request Bernalillo County Board of Commissioners for (1) Denial of an Amendment to the Paseo/North Albuquerque Acres Sector Plan and (2) Denial of Special Use Permit for a Public Utility Facility by PNM in Regard to Proposed La Cueva/Palomas Substation.
