In January of this year, I found out we were pregnant with twins boys. In February, we found out one baby had a severe challenge. In March, the condition escalated. On May 22nd, we found out Baby Asher who was 23 weeks old went to heaven. These past two months have felt like a nightmare that I just couldn’t wake up from. It was reliving the loss of Baby Angel again from 3-years ago. How do you process still having both babies in your belly when one is still growing and the other isn’t?
And imagine having the very hard conversation with a 2-year-old and a 6-year-old. Helping them to process something that is difficult for any adult to deal with. I tried to find books for young siblings losing a baby sibling that is also a twin but I could not find any.
So in turn I decided to write my own children’s book. I’m currently looking for an illustrator for the book that will be coming out this October in honor of pregnancy and infant loss awareness month. Please keep our family in your thoughts and prayers 🩷💙
