City Employs Private Security

Mayor Seth Fleetwood and City of Bellingham has recently hired a private security service to manage downtown Bellingham business sector "eyewatch".

The uptick in graffiti and theft has caused notable damages to local properties. Concerned businesses are seeking security measures as a community.

Meanwhile, advocates and outreach workers view this city measure as potentially harmful to our unhoused community who are vulnerable to reprisal when occupying public spaces to survive.
