BELIFT, TAKE ACTION

BELIFT, TAKE ACTION
The Issue
BELIFT, TAKE ACTION.
On June 25th a YouTube video was released on ENHYPEN’s channel which involve an ENHYPEN member suspectedly singing a racial slur. After demanding clarification from the artist and their label, international fans have been harassed with racism primarily on social media platform, Weverse.
It has been 6 days since this issue arose and the purpose of this petition is to request the following from BELIFT Lab, ENHYPEN’s label:
- To address and clarify the use of the racial slur.
- To edit the video “[EN-CORE] ‘BORDER CARNIVAL’ MUSIC SHOW BEHIND EP.4” where appropriate, or to take it down.
- For ENHYPEN members to be educated on such sensitive issues, as they are a global K-pop group.
- For accountability to be taken or an apology made from BELIFT for the consequences their negligence may have had on Black and international fans.
- For prompt actions to be taken if a similar situation occurs. This includes releasing statements to inform fans and prevent confusion—but also the immediate banning of racist posts from ENHYPEN’s Weverse (and this to be maintained through measures such as moderators)
We want to insist that we do not hate ENHYPEN or any of their members. Our intentions are the very opposite, we support them and would like them to use this situation as an opportunity to learn and grow. Black ENGENEs wish to be treated with the same respect and consideration that other international fans and Korean-ENGENEs are awarded.
We are as much a part of ENGENE as everyone else.
