Designs ready for public viewing on Sept 8th for 29 days

Hello Cuttagee Bridge Supporters,

Last week, Bega Valley Shire Council resolved to place the 3 bridge design options on public display on 8 September for comments over 29 days. Item 9.4 https://begavalley.infocouncil.biz/Open/2025/08/OC_20082025_MIN_1078_WEB.htm

Worryingly, it seems the design engineers have not heeded the results of the Have Your Say where 70% of respondents wanted  a mainly timber single lane bridge. It seems the closest is a single lane hybrid design mainly concrete and steel with just decorative timber.  It is to be constructed to take 44.5 tonnes, according to information from Bermagui Community Forum - https://www.facebook.com/bermaguiforum - yet Wallaga Lake Bridge load is 22.5 tonnes.
