Council elections are vital for Cuttagee Bridge

This is a message from Bermagui Community Forum, relating the upcoming council elections to Cuttagee Bridge's future:

Meet the candidates for the local election on 14 September.

During this financial year, BVSC will spend $1.5m on the evaluation of options for Cuttagee Bridge as the first stage the State Government $15 million renewal plan. The options being  considered are:

- a single lane timber and concrete hybrid structure
- a two lane concrete structure
- a two lane concrete and timber hybrid structure 

It is critically important when you cast your vote in the Council election on September 14 that you know where the candidates stand on the future of Cuttagee Bridge. 

MOST of those standing for Mayor have consistently voted for a two-lane concrete bridge at Cuttagee during their previous terms on Council. 

Only ONE of the Mayoral candidates has consistently supported an evaluation of ALL bridge options and stakeholder consultation as part of the evaluation process while serving on Council. 

If you want to ensure that the evaluation and outcomes of ALL of the bridge options are fully and openly considered by Council and our community’s wishes are respected, attend this meeting and find out where the candidates stand! 

It is also vitally important that you continue to pressure councillors for proper consultation with the community as this project proceeds.
