Petition updateBefore we build: Demand the full truth about Coles Road DevelopmentHelp STOP the City Council from removing the 2005 Annexation Agreement today at 5:30 pm.

The 2005 annexation agreement must remain in place. This petition speaks for itself — our community understands what is at stake. Weakening or removing the annexation would risk serious environmental harm, not only to those of us who live here, but to everyone on Whidbey Island who depends on its one and only freshwater source — Critical Aquifer Recharge Area highly subject to contamination.

We must think about the broader impacts of our actions.

For any development of 85 units or more — including additions through ADUs — the annexation would have to be removed. That is a line this community will not accept.

The challenges our community faces cannot be solved by one nonprofit, one council, or private decisions made behind closed doors. They require all of us  — open conversation, honest collaboration, and the courage to build something together that we can all be proud of.

We want clean solutions. We want trust. We want a community worthy of the beautiful place we call home — today, tomorrow, and for generations to come.
