Hello, Thank you very much for being one of the earliest supporters of our campaign. Four months after closing the petition we have achieved an incredible amount. As a result, with your help, it is perfectly possible that London could become the world's first National Park City. London can be declared a National Park City once two-thirds of the capital's electoral wards and the Mayor of London have declared their support. Here's where we are at: ~ 119 wards have declared their support from 21 of London's councils. These wards are represented by 357 councillors from all the main political parties. This is 27% of our target. ~ Mayoral candidates Sadiq Khan, Zac Goldsmith, Caroline Pidgeon, Sian Berry, George Galloway and Rosalind Readhead have all confirmed that, if elected, they will help make Greater London a National Park City. ~ Our campaign has been shortlisted for a London Planning Award and is embedded within a number of recommendations in the recent Green Infrastructure Task Force report.
