Hello, This petition has been a vital and important step in our campaign to make London the world's first National Park City, but our strategy has changed. While support from the Mayor of London is still important, what we are asking for has changed... and so for this reason, we're going to close this petition. This petition has successfully seeded our movement - and it is growing. It has allowed us to crowdfund a bold proposal, to organise events, receive great media coverage and discover that 9 in 10 Londoners think making London a National Park City is a good idea. Going beyond petitioning, we can make London a National Park City by declaring it one. Once two-thirds (436) of London's wards and the Mayor of London have declare their support we will have the legitimacy we need to move forward. As of now.. 31 wards have already declared their support. Even if you have signed this petition, please take a moment to back the new declaration, join the Thunderclap, come to our next campaign meeting or write to a ward councillor to recruit their support.
