The Issue

Apparently, paying for gas just isn’t stressful enough without a bin of 90-proof alcohol staring you down at the cash register. ⛽️🍹
We are asking Casey’s Corporate Management to move the single-serve alcohol "shooters" off the front checkout counters at the Tarkio, Missouri store (403 S 1st St). High-proof liquor does not need to be sitting at eye level with kids right next to the candy bars just to drive impulse sales.
We respect Casey’s right to sell alcohol under Missouri law, but it belongs back in the standard liquor aisle.

Keeping shooters by the register impacts individuals who are in active recovery from alcohol use disorder. For those working hard to maintain sobriety, encountering high-proof liquor at eye level during a routine transaction—like paying for gas, coffee, or food—creates an unnecessary trigger. Unlike the dedicated alcohol aisle, which individuals in recovery can choose to avoid, the checkout counter is an unavoidable bottleneck for every single customer.

Please take 30 seconds to sign and help us get corporate to restore responsible, family-friendly checkout lanes in Tarkio!
