hello, i know that you are Very busy , and you have my total respect and loyalty, but i feel the need to beg you, as well as the rest of Walker County, to help us transform our local animal shelter into a NO -KILL SHELTER! i have offered many many times to foster, transport, i have donated items, arranged for transport, adopters, etc, but i now no longer wish to help the shelter, as they continue to kill animals, that have ADOPTERS! i personally witnessed a poor woman, wanting to adopt an animal, scheduled to be put to sleep... however, she could not make it there , in time; she was reprimanded for not being able to be there, yet, what they did not understand is that she was an amputee, and could not get there, in person, in time; she was told she had to come in , in person, or else. another horrid example... : only weeks ago, someone offered to adopt a doggie, yet was short about $10; the shelter page (Friends of Walker County Shelter (?)) told them that if they could not come up with the money, they would still euthanize, even though many of us offered to pay the $10. the ONE MAJOR POINT THAT NOONE SEEMS TO UNDERSTAND IS THAT IT COSTS MONEY TO KILL AND TO DISPOSE. there is a Walker County Shelter, in North Alabama, who literally gave the animals away, to approved homes ,instead of killing, as it DOES SAVE LIVES AND MONEY... TAXPAYER MONEY. DO YOU SEE?? I genuinely hope so. and i hope i , and many others , can count on you, to follow this trend of generosity, as well as the trend for saving the county money: NO KILL SHELTERS COST LESS!! PERIOD.... THINK ABOUT IT.. NO DISPOSAL, NO LETHAL INJECTIONS, HORRID GASSING, ETC.... NO COST TO THE COUNTY. ty.. i hope we can count on you, please? sincerely ..
