
The purpose of this mural is to celebrate Orange Mound's rich heritage and inspire younger generations to strive for greatness. To achieve this goal, the mural will reflect Orange Mound's roots as a slave plantation as well as its beginnings as a residential community for people of color following the Civil War. The mural will recognize individuals who made significant contributions to their respective disciplines. The mural will also depict images that showcase the vibrant spirit of Orange Mound.
