The Bay Point project is yet another attempt to degrade the coastal environment of the Gullah/Geechee Nation which erodes the quailty of life of the Gullah/Geechee people.  This would add to a long list of gated resort areas bearing the name and behavior of "plantations."  The economic exploitation compounds the environmental harms that these places bring to the coast.  To that end, we are calling on all supporters of this petition to read the blog that is attached and sign the two additional petitions and share all three that the Gullah/Geechee Sea Island Coalition is promoting to stop the exploitation and mascotification in the Gullah/Geechee Nation.

There is also an on-going Gullah/Geechee Land & Legacy Fund that can be contributed to via GoFundMe or via CashApp to $GullahGeecheeNation to assist with the on-going legal battles and the social justice work that the community is doing.
