We just concluded hearing the latest pitch concerning Bay Point.  It has not changed fundamentally since the original one beyond adding information concerning waste treatment and creating names for new groups that will exist to guide the environmental aspects of this project IF it is approved. 

Currently, there is only a conceptual plan approval by the Beaufort County Planning Staff.  The plan will need to receive a recommendation from the staff that will be sent to the Beaufort County Board of Zoning Appeals who will make the decision about whether or not this can be done as a special use.  Please read the attached story to see why we still remain opposed to this destructionment going forward on this traditional Gullah/Geechee fishing ground, turtle nesting area, and Important Bird Area (IBA).
